Hello and welcome! TODAY is the Swiss National Day, and TODAY we launch the website that is designed to introduce the Swiss German to you and help you learn some of it.

Swiss German has no proper written form, THEREFORE, so many people here will be doing proof-reading to ensure the most useful translation, and THEREFORE you are welcome to share your versions and thoughts with everyone as well!

This website will lay stress on modern Swiss German of Basel-Land (BL) and old Swiss German of Basel-City (BS). But other Swiss dialects will be mentioned as well. So, hurray-hurray and let's START!
